Joe Melling et al. investigate a novel visual illusion in which moving frames cause a single flashed stimulus to be perceived in two locations simultaneously, https://t.co/A26z8wvLL4.

When fixing your gaze on the grey dot, how many red dots do you see within the green frames? Many people consistently see two, despite only ever being shown one. Our paper about the new 'Split-Stimulus Effect' is out now in JoV [1/2]

I'm thrilled to share that I've recently started my PhD in Psychology at @Stanford! Grateful to be working with @GwilliamsL and Ellen Markman, and so excited to spend the next few years studying language and cognition in the developing brain :)

Excited to share this review paper that outlines evidence that minority group members live in ‘tighter’ social worlds. An enormous thank you to @MicheleJGelfand for all the mentorship and guidance on this! Empirical work to follow!
Colleagues--our new paper on Minorities living in tighter worlds is out. Loved collaborating with the great @WeavingMorgan on this! Stay tuned for the empirical paper that tests these ideas! cc @_alice_evans

Abstract. It is well-established from fMRI experiments employing gradient echo echo-planar imaging (EPI) sequences that overt speech production introduces signal artefacts compromising accurate...

Congrats @CottierTimothy on another Herculean effort!
Super excited to share the latest preprint from my PhD! With @renrutmailliw @violetjchae @ceptional @HinzeHogendoorn we show that individual alpha frequency does not index a mechanism underlying motion-position illusions (e.g., the flash-lag effect). https://t.co/VOd0EPuyGu

Motion-Position Illusions (MPIs) involve the position of an object being misperceived in the context of motion (i.e. when the object contains motion, is surrounded by motion, or is moving). A popular...

Thanks all for attending last week's meeting with Derek Arnold and Loren Bouyer! Speaking respectively on intrusive thoughts and autistic trait expression, with the vividness of visualisations. I'd make a joke about aphantasia, but I can't quite picture it...

Happy to share this brief preprint w/ Oh-Sang Kwon, Minwoo Kim & @HinzeHogendoorn. We suggest that the brain may be able to rapidly re-weight its inputs and predictions during perceptual inference, explaining the puzzling phenomenon of 'position resets'. https://t.co/ozxZ85aXPy
