Is IP geolocation nothing more than an ASN/Geofeed data aggregation and parsing service? We, at @IPinfo, do not think so, but the industry still has to catch up. It is not excusable to map a Los Angeles IP address to Eswatini.

We locate this @riotgames IP in Sydney, while two other providers claim it is in Dublin (10,697 miles away) and LA (7,490 miles away). Through independent tests, our (@ipinfo) data appears to be accurate. Matched with the "nearest server" thousands of miles away!?!

You can always send me IP addresses to investigate and report back. Even though our data is the bestest, I can dive into the data for you and provide additional insights.

Seeing that our competitors can't even get the IP country right is frustrating. IP geolocation isn't that difficult; you just need a super-talented group of engineers+scientists, thousands of PoPs, great leadership, an excellent team, and a fantastic user community.

I always wanted to see the location/ASN of an IP address when I traceroute to an IP address. This comes in handy when doing IP location validation. So, I #vibecode a fun little tool:
