Today, I launched Manas AI –– a full stack AI company setting out to shift drug discovery from a decade-long process to one that takes a few years; bringing life-saving treatments to patients faster than ever.

8/ If everything breaks our way, AI becomes a force for superagency. If we fail to meet the moment, we risk replaying the worst of the China shock. This time, not town by town, but at the level of cognitive identity itself.

3/ Where the China shock was regional and industry-specific, the AI shock is cognitive and diffuse. For example, the shock isn’t localized to factories, but expertise. It threatens to do what globalization couldn’t undermine: professional, white-collar, and knowledge-based work.

2/ David believes that the coming age of AI isn’t solely a technology shift, but a paradigm shift in the way labor markets work. The key difference between now and the China Shock? This one hits everywhere at once.
