In real terms (gold) the S&P fell 80% in the 1970s and has been essentially flat this decade. Also, before the first bull market on this chart, the S&P was still recovering from the ‘29 crash. It wouldn’t eclipse its pre-crash level till 1954. @danielKdenning @dferris1961.
Bear markets pale in comparison to bull markets, both in market movement and duration. A good reminder for every long-term investor.
