Good news. It's hard for a small country to balance electricity supply and demand, much easier when we're connected to a larger grid.

@ray_cun Weโ€™ve managed remarkably well over the year in fairness. But given the intermittent nature of renewables, better grid connection is vital while we work on storage capacity etc. A second line to the UK is being privately developed too I understand.

@ray_cun much easier when we use French nuclear power. Their plants are ageing though & they're struggling to repair & build new ones to keep up with demand. Would the greens ever consider nuclear as an option for Ireland?

@ray_cun Great to see Ireland finally using nuclear power, but I'd prefer if we were making it here instead of becoming depentent on imports...

@ray_cun How much will it cost? Will it increase or decrease prices in Ireland? Will it flow two ways? What is the effective transmission capacity? What are the expected transmission losses? Is it a white elephant?, based on answers to the above๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿ‘†
