šŸ‘šŸ½ Vote Yes on Prop 50, then register with the Peace and Freedom Party. California is on the frontlines of Trump's ultra-right attack on workers. Prop 50 fights back against right-wing gerrymandering, but redistricting alone will not address the root of our problems.

It’s not complicated. We must act now, be loud, and divest from death and destruction. Free Palestine!

We will keep fighting for you, Ismael. We will make California a place where families can live without the constant terror of being kidnapped, separated, or disappeared. The war on immigrants is a war on all workers. Our solidarity is our survival.

Mass layoffs at hospitals shouldn't be normal. Healthcare companies rake in billions while people die waiting for appointments. As Governor I would EXPAND Medi-Cal into a universal, free healthcare system so our hospitals stay open and staffed. https://t.co/G80x21daxG

Newsom's deployment of the CHP across California to assist local police is not standing up to Trump: it's standing in line with him. āļø In addition to halting police expansion, our campaign calls for the end of the militarization of the police. #Ramsey4gov #VoteSocialist2026

Our "sanctuary" city and state status is only as strong as our ability to enforce it. Billionaire-backed politicians are allowing ICE to run amok with surveillance cameras. ICE out of the Bay. ICE out of everywhere!

New: SFPD allowed out-of-state cops to make over 1.6 million illegal searches of San Francisco's license-plate reader data — likely in violation of California law. šŸ“: @tomoki_chien

I’ll never forget Fred Hampton’s call to us all: ā€œBe willing to live for the people, be willing to die for the people!ā€ As Black August comes to a close this year, I'm reflecting on the revolutionaries who have inspired me and so many others to fight for our collective liberation

During Black August we center the fight to free our political prisoners and remember our freedom fighters who recognized the same truths evident in the struggle of the Haitian people. That is: It takes us to free us!

@no1dicknixonfan According to census numbers- from knocking on doors- there are at least 80k empty units between Oakland and SF alone. The real estate industry has numbers they use claiming a low number of empty units- based on a sampling of landlord self reporting. https://t.co/gqfRell75E

Our rates have to be higher here because we let tech companies and real estate speculators have rents skyrocket, even though according to census records (not the real estate industry info) there are about 80k empty units between SF and Oakland. "Market rate" doesn't work.

to be clear "working to make that happen", beyond working to film my movies here- means working with orgs like Make It Bay, Cinemama, and East Bay Film Collective- who are making it happen.

Read David Byrne's "How Music Works" He talks about one big reason CBGBs was able to produce so many seminal groups was CHEAP RENT. People could spend more time making music and being in community.

If you have to work 60hrs to pay rent, you're not making art. If you have rent control, after a few years our cost of living will be more comparable to the rest of the country. Still not great, but better.

I'm hyped about more filmmaking coming back to the Bay Area, and am working to make that happen. But a thing I want folks to remember is that the biggest factor we need to keep filmmaking, music, or art of any kind in the Bay Area- is real RENT CONTROL.

Mother left with a ~$70,000 bill for a 15-minute trip to the emergency room for her 6-month-old son. Absolutely insane. CA woman Jessica Farwell says she was forced by doctors to put her son in a helicopter, which ended up costing $90,000. The insanity doesn't end there.

Anas Al-Sharif was reporting on the forced starvation of his people when the IDF murdered him. Billionaires here profit from war and genocide abroad, while working people everywhere struggle to survive. We must end the war economy and use those billions to meet people’s needs.
