I’ll be buying this for any friend who wants to better understand the horror of the past year in the Middle East. The humanity, understanding & quiet heartbreak on every page has floored me. Thank you @NathanThrall for a peerless lesson on forensic & compassionate storytelling.

A group of parents in Gaza have described their heartbreak as they remain separated from their babies who were born prematurely in Jerusalem just over a year ago. The war has kept them separated, meaning shaky video calls are the closest contact they have with their children.

One of the problems of modern day politics is that it can feel quite removed from most people’s everyday reality. Ed Davey’s description of meeting his disabled son’s needs, before his working day even starts, was detailed, unvarnished & moving - more at 8.30pm on #ITVTonight
In a candid #ITVTonight interview @EdwardJDavey - the leader of the Liberal Democrats - shares how he balances his political and personal life, managing his responsibilities as a carer. Watch ITV1 and ITVX, Tonight at 8:30pm

Covering election campaigns can sometimes feel a bit like watching theatre, with party leaders playing well-rehearsed roles and the script a long way from most people’s reality. This didn’t feel like that.
'One of my biggest fears in life is what happens to him when I'm gone.' Speaking on @ITVTonight, Sir Ed Davey opened up about juggling responsibilities as Liberal Democrat leader and caring for his disabled teenage son | @rachyoungeritv reports https://t.co/sl02UHDjVg

What a joy to meet such a great bunch of curious, engaged and super-polite year 12s. Some really challenging questions too. If these are the journalists of the future, then the news is in good hands.
It was wonderful to welcome @rachyoungeritv from @itvnews as part of @speakersforschools . #doingitright #madeforgreatness @n6luton

Even more wonderful off screen than she was on it. And given what a brilliant, indefatigable journalist she was that’s saying something. ITV News will never be the same, but it’s her family, who she loved so fiercely, that our hearts are broken for. Rest in peace Emily
