🆕We welcome @DHSC decision to develop a new palliative care modern service framework. But ministers must back it up with action on workforce and funding - and make sure local NHS bodies implement it. Read our reaction 👉🏼 https://t.co/Ujlrd4Q2ab

On Tuesday we hosted the APPG for Children Who Receive Palliative Care. Laura, mum of Archie, shared her story of raising a life-limited child and the lifeline Jessie May provides. Her story shows why sustainable funding is vital. https://t.co/VAEBJtviV5

The University of Nottingham plans to suspend Children's Nursing and Mental Health Nursing courses from 2026/27. England has just 1,037 community children's nurses vs 4,960 needed. We're calling for urgent action. Sign: https://t.co/N868csz5P4

Alex loved frogs. His family now collect frog mementos as a way of keeping his memory alive. When a child dies, their family's world stops. But household bills and other pressures don't.💔 Donate today to give bereaved families a Gift to Remember. 🐸

With the Autumn Budget next week, we’re calling for multi‑year funding for children’s palliative care. A £310m NHS funding gap is leaving families without the support they need at the hardest times.

Today, we're in Westminster calling on the gov to commit to action that tackles the postcode lottery in children's palliative care. With a plan for palliative care being developed, we're urging MPs and peers to support our proposed actions in parliament. https://t.co/EM0rX4SPOp

When Alex passed away aged 14, the McConvilles’ world suddenly went quiet. And while they were grieving, financial pressures were building up. A £300 grant through our Butterfly Fund made all the difference. Donate now and give families A Gift to Remember:

Thank you to @ChildrensComm for raising this crucial issue when giving evidence to the Lords Bill Committee. You can view our proposed amendments here:

That’s why we’ve proposed a series of amendments and are urging peers to table them. We cannot allow a scenario in which young adults choose an assisted death because they've been unable to access the palliative care they needed in the years prior.

Right now, access to high-quality children’s palliative care varies widely across the UK. We're concerned that inequitable access to care in the years leading to adulthood could influence a young adult's decision to seek an assisted death.

On Friday, the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill begins its committee stage in the House of Lords. As this debate progresses, it’s vital peers consider the impact this bill could have on seriously ill young people, their families, and the professionals who support them.

To secure these actions, we will need parliamentary support. Our event in Westminster on 18 November is a key moment to secure just that. But we need your help to get MPs there. Ask your MP to attend here:

That's why, as the government implements its 10-Year Health Plan, we're calling for action to address the inconsistencies in commissioning and ensure strong mechanisms are in place to hold ICBs to account for how they commission children's palliative care.

The 10-Year Health Plan's promise of a neighbourhood health-based approach to end of life care in the community is welcome. But such a hyper-local approach could unintentionally make it harder to deliver the specialist care seriously ill children need.

In England, the NICE quality standard covering children's palliative care outlines the care that seriously ill children and their families should receive. Yet, far too often ICBs fall short with less than a fifth meeting the standard for 24/7 end of life care at home.
