Over 100 people will probably die from gun violence today, and 200 more will survive being shot. It doesn’t have to be this way. #MarchForOurLives

These are elementary school children who woke up this morning. Who ate their favorite cereal. Who tied their shoes in double knots. Who laughed with friends on the bus. Now more than a dozen are dead. This isn’t normal. It doesn’t have to be this way. It can’t keep being this way

As a product of Cy-Fair ISD, I’m appalled by Board Member Scott Henry’s insinuation that more Black teachers lead to more dropouts. Divisiveness and racism are what’s hurting our students. Not diversity.  Resign. https://t.co/Rmv514MA0A

While there are politicians attempting to prevent teachers from telling the truth about this country, one thing I’m certain of is that there are so many teachers out there who will redouble their efforts to help their students understand this history & we’ll all be better for it.

I did it! Along with April Jones Daughtery, I authored a novel in verse. There are uncomfortable but necessary conversations between characters struggling to be heard & speaking out for justice. #poetrymonth #poetry #book

On this #TransDayOfVisibility and every day, we support all trans and nonbinary students and colleagues—out or not—for who they know themselves to be. We continue to work toward a world where this visibility is not legislated, but celebrated. #TDOV https://t.co/KXnjGLes47

"We know that our traditional school curriculum has left out so many voices—as edus we have a responsibility to look more critically at the units we are asked to teach. They are causing harm and that is on us if we don't look at them critically." @Jess5th #miniworkshop

I still remember when my law prof made me stand up in front of my entire class + turn 360 degrees to show everybody what I was wearing. The intersection bt sexism and racism is very REAL. To understand the systems that perpetuate it, pls read my YA Parachutes. #StopAsianHate

If you are passionate about animated movies and would like a little fun (and frustration, confusion, & full blown anger at times), you don’t want to miss the brilliance @natebyr0n has set up. Now, I’m off to watch some non-Disney/Pixar movies so I can vote.

At a news conference, a law enforcement official says early indications are that Atlanta-area mass shooter Robert Aaron Long may have been motivated by issues stemming from "sexual addiction," not racism -- but he cautions that the investigation is in an early stage

We continue to learn more about last night's attacks in Georgia. This much is clear: The need to address anti-Asian racism and violence is urgent. Our hearts are with the families of last night's victims and AAPI communities nationwide who are hurting.

Last night's shooting & the appalling rise of anti-Asian violence stem frm a sick society where nationalism has again been stoked & normalized. Anti-Black & anti-Asian racism & violence run in tandem in the U.S. Both grps were brought here for labor but never meant to be citizens
