If you are building an application using Planet’s APIs you should check out our new SDK. Reduces friction when getting started and you’ll benefit from all our future improvements!
Announcing the 2.0 release of our Python SDK! V2 abstracts out the details of interacting with Planet’s APIs. The new no-code CLI makes interaction with Planet APIs easy—so you can focus on actually using the data! https://t.co/va7S5NZaG2

My very first day at Planet we were shipping out satellites and I got to be in the group photo before sending them out. It was an awesome feeling and three years later launch excitement hasn’t worn off!
Excited to be launching 44 SuperDoves next week! Here's the team with them before shipping to Florida where they'll be riding a @SpaceX 🚀 to join our ~200 satellite fleet; enhancing our daily scan of 🌎! Let's do this! @Planet 🛰️🛰️🛰️🛰️ (x11!)

Walked out of my hotel in Austin past a ton of fans going to the OSU-UT game, my Lyft is a Chevy Silverado, and the driver has a Whataburger breakfast sandwich. I’m definitely in Texas.

From #GDAL to #Postgis to #OpenLayers and many other libraries, open source geo is a major part of the @planet software stack. Happy to be able to sponsor FOSS4G and looking forward to seeing all the great presentations!
A new sponsor joins us! 🙌 @planet is the leading provider of global, near-daily satellite imagery data and insights. Planet is driven by a mission to image all of Earth’s landmass every day, and make global change visible, accessible, and actionable. 🔗 https://t.co/UW1VN9vpX1

I never get to watch the DC 4th fireworks in person as I am always working to capture them for PBS, but here is a pic from the last time I did see them at inauguration.

Ecstatic to release the follow up to the NumpyTiles spec with NumpyTiles support for @openlayers! Enjoy tiled, multi-band, full-bit-depth raster imagery in the browser! Huge thanks to @opencholmes and @qscripter for helping shepherd this forward. https://t.co/dPfr0IeyTT

Public-private partnerships like @carbonmapper are the kinds of initiatives we need to further build more accurate and complete data for effective #ClimateAction. Look forward to following their progress!
In a first-of-its-kind public private partnership, @CarbonMapper, @AirResources, @CAgovernor, @NASAJPL, and @Planet team up with @RockyMtnInst, @asnerlab, & @uazresearch to detect, quantify and track point-source methane and CO2 emissions. Details at

Great to get this out and excited to be a part of the community building tools to visualize multiband full-bit depth rasters on the client.
Super excited to announce something I've been working on at Planet: NumpyTiles! A spec for providing multiband full-bit depth raster data in the browser! Big shout-out to @opencholmes , @qscripter and Ian Schneider for helping build this out! https://t.co/u1BAfLRUwE

Calling all developers who’ve always wanted to try building something with Planet data, come and get it! #gischat
We’re excited to be launching our Developer Trial Program! Whether you’re a developer or not, anyone can take our platform for a spin. With access to Planet data, users can sample everything short of tasking an actual satellite. Try out Planet’s APIs now: https://t.co/SpdI6uAXeu

Pretty shocking how difficult it was to cancel my @nytimes subscription, had to speak to an agent. I always try and subscribe directly with publishers vs using the Apple Store, but if this is the cancellation experience Apple is earning their cut.

I’ve been trying to take more notes lately and have found it to be really helpful in maintaining context. If you’re trying to do the same, I recommend https://t.co/9dvpRghGTD it’s OSS, notes are in markdown, supports syncing with e2e encryption, and has phone apps.

So much more to do, but that very first “it’s alive” moment always feels good.

Has anyone started making face hugger xenomorph breathing masks? Could be a great Halloween costume.
