Been searching for this for years. "A Sense Of Freedom" in its original GLASGOW voice. Since the early 80s only a dubbed into "English" version exists but this is how it was meant to be heard. One the most brilliant brutal British dramas ever made.

These are the wives of the 1966 World Cup winning team - hours after the match - waiting to go to another restaurant because they were not permitted to attend the official reception for their husbands.

Proper Iconic. After England had beaten Argentina in the 66 World Cup quarter finals, manager Alf Ramsey was so incensed by the South Americans play, he stopped any swapping of shirts at the final whistle.

Your regular pop culture reminder that David Byrne's famous 'big suit' he wore during Talking Heads was actually styled on one worn by England's 1966 WC Hero Alan Ball when at a press conference with Lawrie McMenemy.

Debbie Harry's 80th. Oh my. In 1976, when the band first came to London they thought the Sniffin' Glue "office" would be a good place to start. They soon saw it was NOT Andy Warhol's Factory. BUT! All was not lost. Debbie and I went shoe shopping down Bond Street!

In the early 70s, those all dayers at the Crystal Palace Bowl were always an eclectic bill. I went to quite a few. I recall two of my favourite albums at the time were Roxy Music's 1st and the debut of Loggins & Messina. Incredibly, they were the opening acts in 1972.

Fine line between the breeze coming through one of our back doors just now which is merciful and that same gust in a few months being condemned as draughty.

Thank you for the nice comments about our garden. It IS a beautiful space though nothing to do with me. Wendy was up at 8 today watering, shifting and tidying. still fussing as I write this. Yes lots of breaks too for tea/wine/lunch/dinner but it's all her work.

It used to be said that if you flipped and inverted The Beatles "Magical Mystery Tour" cover you could see a phone number that, if dialled, led on to adventures. I mean, you sort of can. 537 something. Sadly Paul died before we got the truth.
