affective polarisation in action.
It's sometimes said that, for voters, the cause of climate change/Net Zero has become associated with hectoring, middle class puritans and so on. This is not true - neither with voters overall nor swing voters. It's only true for a core of Reform voters. via @YouGov. Short 🧵

Last I looked, a forest is a forest. Don't recall ever walking through a forest and thinking "wow, I love what they've done with this net zero forest". What next? Pejorative use of net zero peatland restoration? Sinister net zero insulation of homes?

A rare "OMG" moment in climate news. The EU cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 8.3% last year. That's almost as much as it fell in the pandemic. But with stable (okay stagnant) GDP and renewable energy doing the heavy lifting. Story by @fed_disario

The impact this would actually have on food security is so minuscule as to be laughable. Anyone actually serious about improving food security would be looking at encouraging people to eat a bit less meat, investing in more climate resilient agriculture, and banning golf courses.
We must ban solar farms on prime agricultural land. Solar panels are for roofs, not for farmland. Our countryside and food security is precious. https://t.co/RadPHlmojJ
