Europeans and Americans who support Palestine do so out of a commitment to the idea of a universal humanity, inspired by Christianity and its descendants—enlightenment philosophy and later Marxism. Muslims do so out of a commitment to tribal in-group self-interest.
If our struggle were truly about freedom for Palestinians, dignity, rights, and self-determination, you would expect us to stand in loud solidarity with other peoples in the Middle East fighting for the same things. Kurds fighting erasure. Yazidis surviving genocide. Iranians
