I've been playing Dota since I was 8, it's been 15years. I've been trying to get to a big tournament since 2012. I dropped out of school to enlist in mandatory army in Singapore so I'd be able to pursue my dream earlier. This meant so much to me I can't even put it into words 1/2
Why is the Major's prize pool and points not distributed at least partially to the teams that are qualified/would qualify?
Flew to the other side of the world to play DPC & won, and yet I'm probably gonna make like $2k usd for the whole season after expenses.
LFT Pos4/5 10k
No.1 Support player in SEA Leaderboards, and yet I say with full confidence that I am one of the least talented players. No one will work harder than me, I guarantee it.
Singaporean passport buff willing to relocate anywhere.
RT's very appreciated.🐣
Giving someone a fish doesn't do much in Dota, I'm much more keen on teaching how to fish. Been thinking of doing some coaching but haven't figured out the way I wanna do it. These are the main factors I've learnt through the years, hope it helps someone in their grind
I'm not very smart when it comes to these things, so I hope the capable people in Dota are able to use this momentum to change things for the better, for players like myself. From the btm of my heart I thank you guys & I'll keep trying, always. 2/2
DOTA PSA:
When you're not teamfighting, 70% or more of the game is actually playing the minimap. Where you place your hero on the minimap every 5 second interval causes a domino-effect on things you don't understand. Thinking of teaching this on stream later anyone interested?
To all the players that get to pick 2nd/3rd phase in pubs & yet pick like shit consistently all the time, fuck you.
Sincerely, friendly neighborhood first pick pos5 player.
for those asking yes we're playing dpc oq tomorrow the lineup will be
1. Skadilicious 🇵🇭
2. InYourDream 🇮🇩
3. Deth 🇸🇬
4. ponlo 🇸🇬
5. nb 🇵🇭
Team D (D for idk what)
Jackky & Fearless back to old
An attempt at an INSANE play
Ame Spectre TPed out to buy Shard to get back into the fight with full hp.
The last instance of dmg was at :23 seconds by MK
He had to press it by :31.
He wanted to heal up more & mistimed it
This could've eliminated T1 right there.
A thread
Yesterday(8Apr) we sent this email to Valve at 4am (GMT+8), mid-way of our Open qualifiers after beating SMG 2-0. Valve has since decided 1hour ago that team D is disqualified & SMG will continue today.
Sorry to friends and fans watching, and also my teammates who didn't deserve to lose in that manner. I evidently have shit to work on, I'm coming back stronger. Keep believing in us, we're going to win the marathon
Rough games today. Honestly we tried our best, but it was definitely an off day for us. But we found things that we're going to fix, so we're only going to get better. Bonus image for fun
My girlfriend is playing Dota for the first time ever as an iMac Andy, she's alternating between having the time of her life and dying to towers 5sec later
Valve decision is to disqualify Team D from Open Qualifiers, and to ban "vtFaded" from playing in the DPC until after TI10. Heartbroken for him, going to try to speak to anyone I can to rectify this situation. Will add more context soon
bros I have arrived at my room & it's sick 😭 gonna shake off the jetlag and get the grind on! Cab was like $80 USD for 25mins though, standard of living omega yikes
I hope no Div1 NA team loses to
@TheCutGG
next season because I never want their pos1 player to be able to do an interview ever again. What a fucking twat.
In 2021 I
¬ Played in iG.V
¬ DQ from DPC with Team D
¬ Changed to 5
¬ Casted TI Quals
¬ Got 9k and coached by
@Mushi_Chai
¬ Got 10k
¬ Joined
@Quincy_Crew
May not seem like much to most, but it was more than I managed to do in the last 3 years combined before 2021.
Never imagined I'd be able to hit this milestone, even less as a pos5. A lot of credit to Mushi for coaching me the past two weeks where I went from 9k>10k whilst under his/TNC's training program.
for those interested in my playing activity.
🩸🥵😭
I wrote a twitlonger but deleted it because I felt like nobody would give a shit.
Yes I'm playing pos5 now, I'm trying to captain a squad & am looking for sponsors. We're doing good so far, though without dpc to play and without sponsors, commitment is really hard to expect.
seems like nobody wants to tweet about it, but that Alliance vs Beastcoast game was pretty terrible, I know it's TI and all and we wanna respect all the players, but come on, let's be real. what the fuck was that?
just landed from my BUSINESS class flight that my manager upgraded for me saying “thanks for bringing him to TI”, while the dudes that did me dirty lost and fucked off life is great when you’re not an asshole
My heart goes out to the teams having issues in OQs, often times so much effort, just to be blatantly disregarded. Been there plenty of times myself over the past decade. This shouldn't be how the new age of Dota pros are treated, it stifles the scene in a huge but subtle way
They're the same humans, just like us.
We don't yield a single centimeter of the map without a fight.
That logic works. That logic actually works.
CHILLS
It's my 15th ish year of playing Dota and as I get older it gets harder and harder to justify this pro career in Dota. But honestly I've been so dedicated to this game that I don't have much else in my life. I really wish things are going to get better for tier 2-3 players.
The thought of creating a gofundme did cross my mind, I did not want to rely on the community as we owe you guys so much already. However with sponsors and organizations declining/not responsive, I have no choice but to turn to you guys.
“I believe SEA has proven that we’re not all about early game aggression anymore”
We sat down with
@ponlodota
to reflect on going from scarily accurate predictions on Twitter to TI10 Qualifier analyst for SEA and CN, and his plans beyond.
More here 💢
I have passed the trial 😬 discussing terms and plans to fly over to Shanghai. Feel like I'm able to address my flaws on pos4 in SAG, kind of liberating. Sad to be leaving my own boys in D. It do be like that sometimes :c
sometimes I watch old interviews and dota archives & it blows my mind in a disappointing way that I've been trying since 2012. I was there for the birth of most of the famous players, their peaks, and their retirement/downfall.
First time I played against
@Jaunuel
was when he was in SGD. We would literally scrim them just because their pos5 was good & watching the replays would be interesting to see how he warded. Always had massive respect for him as a person and as a player, gl in Fnatic bro <3
While all of them deserve their bans, some of them are likely to have been blackmailed consistently throughout their career after they did it once due to ignorance/immaturity many years ago. Try to remember that before we pile onto them. But with that being said, those that (1/2)
Just landed in Frankfurt for my layover, 12h flight back to Singapore soon! Excited to eat my lormee laksa bcm and not worry bout price of food 😭 Also miss my sea pubs so much. Let's gooooo
I was slated to join SAG but I've been approached for another trial opportunity at a big team. Too early to start smelling the flowers and a tremendous challenge lies ahead. Send me power friends.
Mmr context: Played almost purely pos5 to 10k, been fiddling with pos4 to 10.2k, still figuring myself out. Jabz is technically higher but he plays core almost 50% of his games on main or something - so I'm taking the title :]
throwback to that sea pub where somebody i didn't know asked me: "hey ponlo dont mind, how much ur salary in QC" to which I answered smth like why the fuck would I tell you, to which he replied "ok Big EGO" LMAO
2 episodes in and Arcane is already 10x better than Dragon's Blood. I didn't even finish the latter. Only thing valve does better is that they have the better game 💀 having db was still a good thing though
