2 months ago from today, the old AR mode was removed and replaced by AR+. It remains unknown why Niantic removed old AR mode entirely, instead of keeping it in the game and allowing players to choose between AR or AR+. There would effectively be *more* AR in the game if they did

The game hasn't been this bad in years. - No AR catching - Forced to play in 30fps or your throws will go to the moon - PvP has DRE and 1T lags - Gifting causes memory leaks - Raids not catchable sometimes - Avatar update is a joke - Support helpful as always 🤡 #FixYourGame

This can’t be real 😭💔 Please either: - let trainers pick between AR mode or AR+ mode depending on their preference. - remove the ~1.5s zooming inwards animation in non AR mode. You cannot give people a privilege, then take it away and expect things to be ok. Players are going
@Luise_ruin Apologies for any confusion, Luise. Following recent update, Trainers will now exclusively use AR+ (referred to as AR from now on). This becomes the default augmented reality experience, eliminating the previous distinction between AR+ & AR. Thank you! ^EG

Niantic disabling regular AR catching is just horrible, no way to sugarcoat it. People didn’t catch in AR mode because it was ‘cool’ or because it showed real life surroundings. People caught Pokémon this way because it became the fastest and most efficient way to play and

I don’t often grind xp, but when I do… + 7,061,850 xp 🔥 3,800+ catches today 🫡 8 shinies & a hundo panda I didn’t need 😭 This basically guaranteed excellent throw bonus was crazy, felt illegal 🤣 #PokemonGO
