Telling stories to kids 50 years from now about Ohtani is going to be like my grandpa telling me stories about Bronko Nagurski. It’s Paul Bunyan shit.
@podoffame He’s sort of a unicorn in the sense we’ll likely never seen anyone like him again. There will be debates as to whether he’s the greatest as long as there are people who will claim to have seen him play

One more we completely forgot. Rick Wise threw a no-hitter and hit 2 home runs against the Reds in 1971. 9 IP, 0 H, 1 BB, O ER 2 Home Runs, 3 RBI However, this was achieved in June and not October. There is a difference.
I mean this with no hyperbole whatsoever. We might be witnessing the greatest sports performance of all time tonight by Shohei Ohtani.

Enjoyed all the comments this morning. Ohtani is doing the impossible. No doubt about that. I just don’t understand why that automatically makes him the greatest player in history? The greatest talent? I think that’s true. But he’s not close to the greatest hitter we have
The problem with statements like this is Ohtani will probably retire with 2200 hits, 475 home runs, 1300 RBI, 60 Wins, and under 1000 innings pitched. Just don’t know how I can look at that and put him ahead of Aaron. Ahead of Mays. Ahead of Ruth and Williams.

I’ve been saying it for 5 years and I’ll say it again: SHOHEI OHTANI IS THE GREATEST PLAYER IN THE HISTORY OF BASEBALL

Let me tell you about my guy Sid Luckman and the 1943 NFL Championship: 286 Passing Yards 5 Passing TDs 64 Rushing Yards 2 Interceptions as DB 3 Punts, 111 Yards as Punter 2 Punt Returns, 32 Punt Return Yards
What Shohei Othani did tonight would be the football equivalent of Patrick Mahomes throwing for 350 yards and 3 touchdown passes while also sacking the opposing QB 3 times in a performance to send the Chiefs to the Super Bowl. What Ohtani did tonight is legendary

Luckily, the Brewers will beat the LA traffic since they’ve already taken their postgame photos.

11 players have hit 3+ home runs in a single playoff game. 93 players have struck out 10+ batters in a single playoff game. Shohei Ohtani just became the 12th and 94th player to do both.
