Model pickers and mode pickers are UI-cope for bad agent design or poorly instructed models.

One thing that I actually wish Apple Intelligence did is to automatically organize my Apple Notes into folders based on their contents. I have about 10 years worth of notes just dumped in there. It would make search a lot nicer too.

If anything I think AI developer tools will enable _more_ "handmade software" — it enables people who care most about design and craft to ship with fewer resources and lowers the barrier to entry. AI slop in software development is mostly a symptom of lack of taste.

2026 prediction: we’ll see a movement of “handmade software” which was made without AI. Lovingly designed versions of your favorite personal apps.

Yes and in my experience true greatness is being able to do this across multiple rungs of the abstraction ladder at once. Like most things, the more practice one has, the more shortcuts are learned and the ability to arrive at high quality solutions faster gets compounded.

Great designers look like creative geniuses, but they're actually just brute forcing hundreds of mental simulations faster than others can build and test one solution.

Anyone I know out there who skis, have you tried the Carv 2 wearable? Genuinely curious about this thing.

Forgot to post this here, but I finished this table about a month ago and then hosted 12 of my family and friends for Christmas Eve dinner. Came out pretty great. Here it is set for 8, but we were able to fit 4 on each long side and 2 on each end. Wood is really cool.

Frame is now attached to the table top. Caulked up the joints and filled in any screw holes. Gave it a nice initial sanding. We’re ready for paint and stain now.

More table updates:. Got the legs sanded and bolted to the frame. I also dry fit the legs and frame to make sure things were feeling stable and the height felt good with a chair.

Table updates:. The frame is now glued and screwed together. Next step is to drill holes through the angled corner joints and install the leg bolts.

Web color nerds, are there any downsides to using OKLCH color definitions instead of Display-P3?. 👀 @vladyslavmoroz.

Here’s where I’m at right now. I’ll post more as I make more progress. Designing with wood is really fun!

I copied the framing idea from our existing dining table and just sort of scaled it up. I hope it works!.

I got a local lumber mill to mill a slab of maple for the top, the legs are salvaged from an old busted table we bought last year.

I’ve been working on building a new 8ft x 4ft dining room table that can seat up to 10 people. This is my first large-ish scale wood working project. 🧵
