The “willingness doesn’t mean commitment” corner of Twitter Mormons are disingenuous. Let’s be clear:.If a person declines to be willing to pay tithing in their baptismal interview, they fail the baptismal interview. More teaching is required, until they are willing.

Imagine being an omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent god and complaining to your followers that you’ve been robbed. Seems petty.
@JoeCan57 @pimomormon Tithing is clearly a commandment. Malachi made it clear that not contributing to tithes and offerings is robbing God. Why should you expect to enter God's kingdom, go to the temple, or make it to heaven if you're stealing from God.

The Mormon church will not baptize a convert unless they commit to pay tithing. That’s simony. A saving ordinance prevented if you refuse to commit to pay. You are buying the ordinance at that point.
