Hello, ik this post is kinda an overshare but I need your support. I am a CSA survivor and also survived violence and a threat to my life at home. I filed a court case and won but I am still stuck with family as I transition to academic life. I am trying to write my way thru it.

@phoolan_deviesq Another way to support them is to not buy commerical plant pots, and go for mitti wale, sometimes (smaller sizes) are done by the same artisans who make dias (atleast the one near my home does both). And that can be a year long thing.

EXACTLY. capitalism devalues labour. we don't pay for the skill, time, or precision. just the raw materials. the cost of labour is fixed and alienated from the value it produces. labour is treated like commodity and with no dignity or soan papri would be a luxury.
Diwali fact- Soan Papri is one of the toughest sweets to make & would be expensive if we respected labour in this society ;) Happy Diwali everyone! Have fun!
