What are semi-natural grasslands? A perhaps confusing name, but it helps separate improved agricultural fields from more natural fields. They are often grazed by domestic animals so aren't wild like savannah. Watch our full animation here @GrasslandsIrl

Greater knapweed, Centaurea scabiosa, Irish Name: Mínscoth mhór, with Painted lady butterfly. This plant species is classed as NEAR THREATENED in the Red Data List of Vascular Plants 2016 ref. ( only 5 plants in '24, but 12 in '25.
