Doctors couldn't discuss the treatment options available to people with COVID unless it was WHO policy.

Why is it you guys always manage to do a press run on these big industry studies but you universally ignore everything else? Do you get contacted about these studies with a press release? Does a PR firm contact you? Who manages this relationship that this is so consistent?

To paraphrase; "since we don't have safety data on the commercial product, we'll trial it by comparing its side effects against those known to be caused by the clinical product. If there's no difference then we know the commercial product is safe"

If we discovered a drug which was safe, cheap, and readily available, and it was effective against COVID, who would be interested in derailing those findings? Such a thing would be unthinkable until you look at how novel & expensive drugs come to market.
