🧵1/5 Every long ballot is unique but the last 30 days have been crazy. To recap: -Nov 1- Byelection for Kitchener Centre called -Nov 6- At a closed door meeting with ON political parties @ElectionsON CEO Essensa insists on a new $500 candidate wealth test + other restrictions...

The social welfare system in Canada and Ontario is so far out of touch. This is the biggest priority not just for Kitchener Centre or the homeless but for cities, the province and the country as whole. Government policy is why we got here and no major party champions the issue.

Nov 6 in an exchange with @ERP_HQ, CEO of @ElectionsON suggests @fordnation use the notwithstanding clause to keep poor people & small parties off the ballot, overriding the numerous court decisions affirming their right to participate😮 (heads up @Rojo1948 & @frankdedejong)

I applaud the RCMP for launching a criminal investigation into Doug Ford’s Greenbelt land swap. They can't keep getting away with this. We need to hold our politicians accountable for their actions. https://t.co/Z29ywOPFeU

At our Town Hall we will be discussing the party's platform, policies, nominating new party personnel, as well as preparing to form riding associations in districts across Ontario, expanding federally and into other provinces. Link to Zoom Meeting: https://t.co/jFJ3N1Vnrm

Don't listen to the Liberal Party Whip, @BardishKW, vote against your party for once and don't condone this ban on long barrel hunting rifles. I usually support Liberal gun policy but this is silly. Liberals want to address violence? Focus on the economic and social conditions.

I commend @CFifeKW, MPP for Waterloo for holding a Film and Discussion night at the Princess Twin Cinemas last month. She is actually engaging with her constituents face-to-face (and a lot online too)! Way to go Catherine! To the other MPs/MPPs...monthly Town Halls are doable!

This is the part of the Greenbelt that's being rezoned to permit development. That area in red is owned by the De Gasperis family, a huge PC party donor. https://t.co/Kb9Vatng4R 1/

I hate the lip service surrounding identity politics. It feels like ppl just scoring political points. This #WorldCup is a golden opportunity to really make a stink about bigotry and human rights abuses but we're wasting the opportunity. Why settle for arm bands and lip service?

The #WorldCup in Qatar is the most deserving thing to be boycotted and cancelled on grounds of sexism, racism, homophobia and slave labour that resulted in thousands of deaths. We pay so much lip service to identity politics but we don't take any ACTION on this?! Infuriating.

I stood with the #CUPE protestors in front of Rudy Cuzzetto's office the first day of the strike and I'll be standing with them again next week. Canadians need livable wages. The average salary for a CUPE employee is just $26.69 per hour - that's barely enough to survive now.
