There’s a lot to do; a lot to build. and Buttercup needs help. It’s all modern tooling, TS/node, Electron/react-native. We need help on greenfield projects, not just maintenance. And it’s for an open source project that’s vital for security - myself and many others use it daily.

Do I know any JS/Node devs based in south Finland that are interested in getting in on @buttercup_pw (password manager development)? Looking for meeting devs that would want to help develop the platform and take it through to its next stage: SaaS/licensed services, CLI/dev tools.

Hey @mozthunderbird - Looks like the PayPal donation option gets blocked by some tracker blocklists. Seems a bit off to me that you start off with data privacy sentiments but use services that flagrantly use tracking on the donation page.

Has apparently been available since 2015/2016 (FF/Chrome), but supported in Safari and Edge since 2020. Not sure how I glossed over this for 3 years. Would have saved me tonnes of times. Am now using in as the backbone in a browser ext: far better than base extension options.

Just discovered the BroadcastChannel API, and am amazed I hadn't heard of this before. `postMessage`-like interface available for tabs/windows of the same origin (browser extensions count), and supported by all current browsers 🤯:

Come to think of it, Chrome extension releases are just as slow. Must be a Google thing - how can releases be so slow with such a large company? Again, Firefox releases used to be slow, but are now instant. This is a broken experience.

Trying to get the latest Buttercup release out on @android is like pulling teeth. Releases used to be almost instant but now I wait for days, weeks even. Used to be with way with iOS but now Apple release my updates within the hour 🤷‍♂️

Seems that for some users, including me sometimes, the token I get for Google Drive access needs refreshing every day. This is painful and needless. seems to be driving users away.
