Vaults will no longer be added directly to the extension, but instead always via the desktop app. This is due to major limitations in the new Chrome; and it’s manifest v3. We believe that the user experience will still be improved, however. We can’t wait 😁✌️.

Starting from the next major release, which is expected soon, you’ll need the Desktop app installed to be able to use it. Vaults from the desktop app will be available securely in the extension, and the extension will share the unlocked status of the desktop vaults. 2/n.

A friendly reminder to our Browser Extension users: Due to Chrome’s upcoming extension manifest changes, we’re forced to change how our extension functions - in quite a drastic manner. 1/n.

Fixed in both the desktop app and the browser extensions. Mobile app release should come this week.

We’re aware of the recent Google Drive failures resulting in 401 errors - not yet sure why this is happening but we’re looking into it. Anyone able to retrieve response headers for this 401 error are advised to send them (privately) to us as it may help the investigation 🙏.

Releases on Google platforms (Chrome/Android) are slow, but we release both Firefox/iOS at the same time. Differences in release dates are out of our hands.
Trying to get the latest Buttercup release out on @android is like pulling teeth. Releases used to be almost instant but now I wait for days, weeks even. Used to be with way with iOS but now Apple release my updates within the hour 🤷♂️
