Nope, Lowan is correct. There are 2 inflation measures, BC CPI and Average wage - gov offer falls below both. Gov offer is 2% in '25 and 2% in '26. The 1% covers allowances, low wage redress, etc. Talks broke off because we were willing to move but gov wasnt.
Two basic inaccuracies here - Lowan says the GEU is asking for an increase to cover inflation, but the gov's offer already matches inflation. The GEU is asking for increases beyond it. And the offer isn't 4%, it's 5% (not including low-wage redress, which isn't mentioned)

Thank you Rob Botterell and @Emily_Lowan for your words in support of striking BCGEU and PEA members
Green Party Rob Botterell: Says the challenges that BCGEU workers are facing happened under NDP's watch. Says other government have negotiated deals. Asks what government will do fix the issue so British Columbians have access to the services staffed by BCGEU workers. NDP Eby:

Here is governments own communication on March 19, 2024 contradicting the statements made by the premier in QP: https://t.co/9n7LVEidj9 Who is feeding obvious untruths to the premier?

Whoever has told the premier we recieved 18% in the last round is not telling the truth - and has caused the premier to say something untrue in QP. This is an obvious fiction and is easily disproven. It is unacceptable that this continues.

Well spoken by @KielGiddens - lets cut where we need to in order to fund the front lines.
There are currently thousands of public sector workers on the lawn of the Legislature protesting the NDP Government. One message is clear: people have had enough. This Government has broken public services with their fiscal record and now British Columbians are paying the

This is awful - and this kind of intimidation of an elected official should not be tolerated.
Last night at approximately 10 PM several vehicles and individuals approached my home and rocks were thrown at my home and vehicle. Police were called and investigated. While the motive or perpetrators remains unknown to me, this is very distressing in light of recent events.
