i wish i was smarter. but there is at least 1 thing of which I'm fairly certain. a nation formed from land theft, genocide, and enslavement where the oppressors have never made any meaningful steps to be truthful about what happened and reconcile in concrete ways is untenable.

There's a common misconception that poor countries are catching up with rich countries. With the exception of China, catch-up isn't really happening. In fact, income inequality between rich countries and poor countries is generally getting worse, not better.
