High-ranking Asheville officials likely knew as early as last spring about the state’s decision to revive plans for a controversial overpass above Patton Avenue as part of the I-26 Connector project, according to meeting records obtained by @AVLWatchdog.

I appreciate Council members sharing info with the public, but we need official updates from the @CityofAsheville. For example: Maggie's "worst-case" scenario is the ACOE's "best-case" scenario. Residents NEED accurate info to plan around, and it needs to go out to everyone
🚨 Breaking: Water restoration in the City of Asheville has a long-awaited timeline, according to Asheville City Council member Maggie Ullman. https://t.co/b2dkUYk99l

Appreciate @Ashevegas and others providing this type of "stark bottom line" analysis. I get that @CityofAsheville can't tell us exactly when potable water will be back online, but they know the steps and how long some will take. Giving people necessary info > "covering your ass".
@scottsowers84 It’s not speculation. I’m breaking through the long-winded discussions of Asheville water system repair updates to give folks the stark bottom line, which is something that city officials simply refuse to do. I’ll find the link and share it.

This story is bonkers. Cops in this South Carolina town run an annual 5-day operation where they stop as many cars as possible. They find any reason to pull people over. And often if the driver has cash, police steal it. In 2022, cops seized $968,611. That's $194,000 per day.
The police claim to be fighting the War on Drugs, but they grab cash wherever they can find it without any investigation into possible drug crimes. https://t.co/rPQ8dlXap4

This is of course quite illegal.
I'm speechless: Charlie Carter, an EMC member, just criticized my public records request for commissioners' emails about #PFAS as "irregular wants to quickly change the bylaws to make EMC emails off limits under the public records act. @NCOpenGov @NCDEQ @selc_org @CleanCapeFear

Of course, not sure if they're referring to what I said or came to the same conclusion on their own, but thought I'd put these figures out there for the benefit of the public.

#avlgov Council just exchanged some comments regarding Sales Tax projections in the budget. If your curious what they're talking about - here's an email I sent to Council earlier today expressing concern that Staff may have over-estimated Sales Tax revenue by ~$4M for next year
