This story is bonkers. Cops in this South Carolina town run an annual 5-day operation where they stop as many cars as possible. They find any reason to pull people over. And often if the driver has cash, police steal it. In 2022, cops seized $968,611. That's $194,000 per day.

This is of course quite illegal.

The City of Asheville has reached a settlement agreement in a lawsuit over park bans the N.C. ACLU says violate constitutional rights.
