The TDA co-title sponsorship amount remains the same for the first two years of the four-year agreement for the PGA Tour event. The cost will increase over the final two years. The state grant is a one-time award.

The Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority will pay $2.45 million to be co-title sponsor, alongside Biltmore Estate, of the PGA Tour event coming to Asheville next year, TDA officials announced this morning. The new PGA Tour tournament is called The Biltmore Championship.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and predict that Ben Woody, assistant city manager in Asheville, will be the next Asheville city manager. Current City Manager Debra Campbell is set to retire effective Dec. 5.
