Trump has wanted to go ever-bigger with his White House ballroom. One person who disagrees: Trump’s handpicked architect, worried about the 90,000-sq-ft addition overshadowing the White House mansion, four ppl tell The Post. More with @jonathanreports. https://t.co/jJMDX042zy

Here’s my point. Saying 130k = poverty to a person who is raising a family on $75k makes you sound like a fucking idiot who would be useless at solving problems.

None of this is to say that we shouldn’t pass good policies. But rich liberals (and yes, if you think 130k is poverty, you’re literally rich) run constantly into the buzzsaw of being seen of helping people who won’t help themselves while ignoring those who can, but still struggle

To this day, purchasing new clothes makes my head explode. One of my proudest skills is I can back to school shop for next to nothing. These skills are ingrained not just in the working poor but, like, form the backbone of the suburban middle class Midwest

People who live on less are proud of how they survive. “Those rich idiots spend how much? It’s a sin, I spend $15” Then rich liberals think they can relate to people by saying “you’re poor if you can’t afford full retail on every luxury”. Not just ineffective, it’s offensive.
If you are earning over $100K and living in America in the year 2025, you are one of the wealthiest, most comfortable human beings to ever exist on the face of the Earth. Yes, you may face some difficulties. Life isn't easy! But you are absolutely not in poverty, JFC

smoke filled room talk: if your opponent is implementing an "everything is more expensive tax" and their approval rating is in the dirt, as a practical matter you should just let your candidates decide on with their issue agenda instead of putting pen to paper on wedge issues
I wrote about AI for NYT! - Rs have a plan on AI - Dems don't! And nobody will have the clout to unify the party on this until 2028 - BUT they have room to explore options (abundance, populism etc) - Big thing to watch: feeling of loss of control (job loss ladders into this)
