Voters are crying out for Democrats to “do nothing” and “respect norms”.
I just could not disagree with this more. We improve nothing by engaging in this gerrymandering arms race. The Democratic Party will lose any of its credibility on defending democracy by going down this path. It’s like saying they’re “forced” to do their own Jan. 6. Hard no.

They are two wildly different things. One represents nearly half of all apartments in New York City. The other is 1%. Doubling down on being wrong is a sign of . winning? Knowing this is the bare minimum for having an ability to weigh in on the subject.
Well, I'll say this probably just once: if you're nitpicking about nomenclature used to describe different ways that the government controls rents/rent increases, you're losing.

Maybe I’m old school but I prefer politicians who at least pretend to be for the people, not for themselves. Landowner Zohran Mamdani wanting to freeze his own rent is a perversion of what civil service used to be about but here we are.

@ryangrim Most rent controlled apartments lose their rent control status after a tenant leaves. Cuomo doesnt know this because he doesnt interact with the poor or middle class. Everyone he knows has a penthouse.
