People often ask how @BikeIDNumber started. The truth is simple: it came from seeing how unprotected bikes really are. No identity, no history, no proof of ownership. @BikeIDNumber was born from the idea that every bike deserves a trusted digital presence. 🚴

BikeID is just at the beginning. What starts as a trusted digital identity for every bike can grow into a full ecosystem connecting riders, shops, insurers, fleets, and manufacturers through a single, verifiable source of truth. This is how cycling evolves, one step at a time.

That’s exactly where the leverage is. For the cost of subsidising one EV, you can help up to ten families buy an e-bike. Ten times the impact. Ten times the reach. And far closer to what people actually need in their daily lives.

As much as I’m not a huge fan of subsidies, e-mobility is far more complex than it looks at first glance. If we’re serious in EU about giving more people access to clean mobility, we need to face a simple truth that many households can’t afford an e-bike, let alone an EV.
