The Australian senator clearly can't believe what she's hearing: "Did you say that an account who shares *repeated* shares of this type of material will have their accounts suspended?"

Here's the moment where Australian Senator Shoebridge points out Elon Musk personally intervened to reinstate the account after the child abuse material was seen by 3 million people.

Twitter exec yesterday: "We have zero tolerance to the content but we may, in the view of the account itself, feel that permanent suspension isn't the proportionate response.".Twitter CEO today: "So if you're going to post something that's illegal or against the law you're gone.".

um.

I’m still amazed that Twitter is defending this.

Here's a clip from today's hearing where the Twitter exec explains why sharing child sexual abuse material isn't an automatic ban. And then an Australian senator explains why that's idiotic.

Needless to say, there's nothing in the Twitter terms of service that says it's fine to share child sex abuse material if you're doing it "out of outrage.".

The Twitter exec seemed to suggest it was fine to share child sex abuse material "out of outrage" or to "raise awareness.".

Twitter's defense of this is bizarre and filled with contradictions
