Over my next few years in Cedar Rapids, it’s my goal to see how many different restaurants I’m able to visit. Can I make it to every restaurant in town? Not likely but it’s worth a shot.
For the record, I’d never consider myself a foodie but my opinions aren’t invalid…
It's a rare moment that we see this kind of visible emotion from Caitlin Clark.
As her family delivered their words of encouragement after the game, Caitlin couldn't hold back the flood gates any longer.
This night was for her.
Over the last year I’ve seen the state of Iowa unified over support of Caitlin Clark. Not 100% obviously, and ISU fans would beg to differ. But I know a lot of diehard Cyclone fans who have put aside their rivalry allegiance to cheer for someone who’s taken the game to another…
Here's the audio from my external microphone during today's press conference. As Alexis Markowski was answering a question, you can hear Lisa Bluder trying to get into the media room, saying, "this is bullshit, this is not Big Ten protocol... they play music while you shoot free…
Jada Gyamfi doesn't get a lot of minutes. But this team wouldn't be who they are without her personality.
She was the first to give Kate a hug when she came back to the court... and the first to tell her that karma had come calling!
the easter egg in this video is Sudeikis in…
OMG we absolutely LOST IT in the newsroom when we saw Kate Martin taken with the 18th pick!
Not only is she reunited with her former Hawkeye teammate Megan Gustafson...
But if she wants to become a coach some day, she's learning from one of the all time best in Becky Hammon!
I’m not sure who the caped crusader is, but she’s making a fast friend in Caitlin!
22 is spending more time talking to her than watching the pregame hype video!
"My dad put up a basketball hoop for my two older brothers, and they never used it. I'm the one who wore it out."
This is some of the most wholesome content you'll see this weekend.
After breaking the scoring record, Caitlin was asked about what her 6 year old self would think of…
@MarkWoodleyTV
Mark you have no idea how hard you're making the rest of our jobs.
Now every news director wants their sports reporter to go out into the cold, in hopes of going viral.
You think this team's not having a good time a day ahead of the tournament?
A group of girls, just laying at center court... Caitlin's reaction when she walks out and sees the circle, "what's happening?"
Coach Bluder was down on the hardwood with her girls... but it took her a…
"You don't have to break a man's record to be recognized".
Lisa Bluder with an important statement on how this record should be viewed in the NCAA history books.
"I'm grateful to not only have a teammate like her, but a friend like her".
Sunday's championship will be the 139th consecutive start for Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin. No other D1 duo in the last 25 years has a longer string of starts together.
The moment that has to pull on the heart strings of every Iowan...
After Hannah drops 23 in the Final Four, she's walking off the court and Jan Jensen calls her back for a big ol' hug.
The season is filled with moments like this. What a joy to get to see one on the big stage.
"These past 3 years I didn't get very many minutes... but I've been in the gym ever since my freshman year, working so hard for moments like this".
I don't need to tell you that Syd Affolter was absolutely BEAMING after her performance tonight against Penn State.
"It's not just women's basketball. She has touched the world."
I promise you want to watch this interview that Lynette Woodard graciously granted me today.
Hawkeye fans and Jayhawk fans are coming together to celebrate a living legend. And she's felt the love from Iowa.
I’m not an Iowa alum, or an Iowa fanboy. But I am a lifelong Iowan. And y’all this moment had me choked up on the red carpet.
Our state and our girls are on the biggest stage possible.
What a day for the state of Iowa.
Will this go down as the Molly Davis Game?
With Caitlin on the bench after her second foul, The Headband scored 7 crucial points over the span of 2 minutes, keeping Iowa in front before halftime.
Career-high 18 points, and maybe the most clutch minutes of her college career.
They love her in London!
Megan Gustafson helps the London Lions win a EuroCup Championship!
Megan wins an international title for the second year in a row; this time leading a British team to a Euro title for the first time ever.
18 points and 7 boards in the finals for Gusty.
Caitlin Clark's full interview from today...
She explains why now was the right time to announce her decision to leave Iowa; and reflects on the last 4 years with the Hawkeyes.
I only recently was informed that Kate Martin and AJ Epenesa were classmates in high school!
Today Kate talked about the impact that the Epenesa family has had on her hometown of Edwardsville.
Kevin Miles, aka JFSF, seems like a genuine dude. I don't think he ever went 30 seconds today without somebody coming up and asking for a selfie. And he always obliged... every. single. time.
But he still seemed genuinely touched when the crowd started chanting his name.
"We just have that love"
After leaving the game to a standing ovation, Caitlin was Hannah's biggest cheerleader, showing her how close she was to the record... and telling her she'd love to see that kind of performance every single night.
I've known Cooper Dejean since he was a sophomore in high school. And I've never seen him more excited than when his roommate, Max White, scored his 1st Hawkeye touchdown.
Grand scheme of things-a meaningless touchdown in the game. But one that the White family will never forget.
Marshall Meeder:
A kid who only showed up on Iowa's roster in August.
Hadn't kicked a competitive football in 364 days.
Nearly retired to become an engineer.
He's spent more time carrying the Heroes Trophy, than playing football this year.
One kick makes Marshall an Iowa legend.
Caitlin Clark calls Sharon Goodman, "one of the best teammates I've ever had".
I had to post my full interview with her this afternoon after she won the Elite90 Award (best GPA at the Final Four) for a second straight season.
Sharon's the type of athlete every young person should…
Kirk certainly is under no obligation to give us the details of each Kid Captain. But he does it every week before taking any questions from the media. He knows these kids and he knows their stories.
"I hope one day I can coach here"
Kate Martin perhaps speaking prophetically over her future career path.
She says that she's not sad about leaving CHA because she hopes to be back one day.
Lisa Bluder spoke about 4 different Ohio State players in her press conference today. And everything she said was extremely complimentary.
I've noticed this about Lisa. If she brings up any opposing player, she's only doing it to give them very high praise.
Jan Jensen is such a good sport. 14 hours after getting back from Minneapolis, she's here at the State tournament watching some future recruits... and
@goiowa
still is willing to give us 13 minutes of non-stop sound bytes about Caitlin's decision.
Here's our full interview.
Outside of CC, has Sydney Affolter been Iowa's most important weapon this postseason?
Since entering the starting lineup, she's averaging 13 points and 7 rebounds per game.
Instead of hitting the portal, she's stuck it out at Iowa.
Hannah's parents are always Cutaway Gold. But their emotions were on another level tonight. Watch her mom as she sinks that last free throw for her 47th point of the night.
Her career began in front of empty seats. And it took only 4 years for Caitlin Clark to fill every single stadium where she steps foot.
Her team... her state... her country... few are immune to the Caitlin Clark Effect.
The postgame crowd after Minnesota might have been the most bonkers that I've seen this year.
Caitlin just disappears under all the hands and posters and shirts and jerseys.
Like a scene out of World War Z.
The Hawkeyes make a red carpet arrival for the national championship.
Will anyone ever forget the names of every young woman on this team?
This has been a season unlike any other.
Win or lose today, they are legends of the state.
A reporter sends a “🫶” at Caitlin Clark
Caitlin Clark: "I do that at my family after every game.”
Reporter: "Start doing it to me and we'll get along just fine."
(
@ClutchPoints
)
There's a great article about Caitlin on the front page of the NCAA website.
The most shocking statistic:
LSU is 2nd in the nation in road attendance, averaging 6,891 per game.
Iowa averages over 11,600 in true road games.
"Let me do the talking to the officials. That's my job".
"I never want to stop being coached... being told what's right and what's wrong".
This was interesting insight from today's postgame presser.
Chad, Mike, and Scott were asking about some of the interactions between…
Today's the day I became an
@aa_boston
fan.
Humble and complimentary to Caitlin winning this year's Naismith Award...
This girl can do no wrong in my book.
This was shared with me. Another cool moment to highlight after yesterday’s game.
Caitlin Clark took the time to meet with Landon after the game. He gave her a bracelet. The two hugged and took a picture together.
@LandonCure
Maybe I'm not the only one who calls her "Syd the Kid" lol...
Both Kate and Caitlin acknowledge the moment that Sydney is enjoying at this year's tourney.
"We kept fighting through the end of the game. Seems like it was all taken away on that one play".
Kirk called this one of the best plays he's ever seen. And Cooper had to fight back tears, recounting the overturned TD in the postgame press conference.
You gotta hear this story Lisa Bluder tells about
@LouisvilleWBB
head coach Jeff Walz.
When a future member of the
#Hawkeyes
family was in its darkest hour, Walz was there to lend a hand.
This dude gets it.
@RaphaelEivots
I don't know if there's anything officially in the rule book. But typically the visiting team goes first in most press conferences I've ever been to.
It's always weird watching yourself on TV... but here's Caitlin when she sees herself say, "the NCAA tournament is the best postseason tournament in all of sports"...
🤷♀️
@TraeK_
@airswoopes22
full respect to your career and your opinions. But I hope someone has corrected you about Caitlin’s career.
22 years old and only in her 4th year.
The play that flipped momentum last night... and another Gabbie block will go down in history.
Sydney Affolter trusted her gut, and delivered Iowa's lone field goal of the 4th quarter. After that, it felt like this one was over.
"My dad, my brother, and my mom-they're all up there right now, and they have gotten every angel on the fence on our side"
Jan Jensen speaks openly about going through deep personal pain, while enjoying the greatest success of her professional career.

Check this out:
Today Bedford freshman Eli Johnson becomes just the 4th wheelchair athlete to tackle the
@IHSAA
State cross country course in Fort Dodge.
The young fella earns a PR in 23:41.08 and writes his name in the Iowa history books.
After Rutgers, Kirk talked about how Phil Parker plays a game where he pretends not to know a player's name...
Today I looked back at Phil's presser from April, and found that he was still playing this "game" with KYLER Fisher, Jaden Harrell, and Cooper Dejean.😂😂
A fellow finalist for the Naismith, and the winner of the Defensive player of the year award, Cameron Brink has only glowing things to say about her former Team USA teammate, Caitlin Clark.
Don't even bother checking any decibel counters from CHA tonight.
The proof is in Gabbie Marshall, who had to plug her ears after making the first of her four 3-pointers.
@GabbieMarshall
"Anytime you host, it's a huge advantage. And I expect our fans to travel really well".
Caitlin's full interview after finding out the draw for this year's NCAA tournament:
Just realized that Caitlin Clark has made 140 3-pointers this season. That matches the number that she made ALL of last season!
She's 15 away from breaking the single-season record for 3s. And 51 away from breaking the NCAA record for 3-pointers.
A few weeks ago I asked Caitlin who she would seek out at basketball games when she was a little girl.
She said that she once got a hug from Maya Moore at a Lynx game… looks like she’s getting an even bigger hug this morning.
