The Red Sox gave an overslot signing bonus to 3rd rounder Anthony Eyanson in last year's draft after an incredible year at LSU. Now, early in 2026, Eyanson is seeing a jump in velocity that has him sitting 94-96 in indoor bullpen sessions and he believes that will tick up more.

Don't be surprised when the Red Sox next infield addition is only in town for 1-2 seasons. Arias and Romero are the next homegrown position players for this organization.
Franklin Arias had a very great past season with the Boston Red Sox organization. He played in the SAL Player of the Month in May and earned two promotions ending the year in Double-A. The infielder hit .404 with a .438 on base percentage for Greenville in May. 2025 Season

Now @jcmccaffrey has reported today that “a source with the team recently noted a preference for Mayer at third.” This seems to have always been the preferred path “post” Bregman.
Per source, the Red Sox would be fine with Marcelo Mayer as the starting third baseman on opening day. 👀👀👀

The Suárez press conference had me thinking, this is gonna be one of the most interesting Sox teams of all time. Typically, the roster is built on offense and using Fenway to their advantage. But this year, it’s all about pitching and defense. Honestly very excited about it
