There's not a lot to being a ballplayer, if you're a ballplayer.

@IFILWALWISHRAPD It's not an ideal world, but if the path is Bregman + Duran trade = healthy Yoshida starting the year as DH and hoping Casas mashes his way into taking over, I'd be fine with it.

Just happy to see a tweet about Masa that isn't slandering his ability as a hitter.

Looking at some situational hitting stuff, and last year Yoshida went 12 for 12 in getting runners home from 3rd with less than 2 outs. League average for that is 51%, the Sox as a team were 51%. Tough time: 44% Duran 41% Story 38% Rafaela 31% Hamilton 31% Wong 27% Narvaez

My new theory: Craig Breslow and Chaim Bloom are trauma bonded by John Henry.

This is a valid point. I would personally prefer them simply spending the money without trading their prospect collateral but they've definitely taken on payroll.

The Red Sox are paying Sonny Gray over $20 million and Willson Contreras like $17 million and change. They haven’t spent in free agency but it’s not like they haven’t added money. Now, criticism over not wanting to go over $264 M is another thing. Call me crazy if you want.

Sometimes reading what fans want in their players reminds me of when I was super active on tinder. "Must be 6'3' or taller, good shape, six figure job, hung like a moose, great relationship with family, master's degree at MINIMUM. If you can't handle me at my worst, you don't

I got negged into liking the Walker Buehler signing last year. Not letting that happen again. If I don't like a move, I am happy to be wrong about it and negative at the time that it happens than force myself to feel something I don't. I feel underwhelmed by Willson Contreras.

Craig Breslow said he called Triston Casas to talk about the Willson Contreras trade today. "We still have a ton of confidence and belief in Triston... There's going to be an opportunity for him to impact games for us."

The #RedSox have discussed a trade with the #STLCards that would send INF/OF Brendan Donovan to BOS, per @Ken_Rosenthal and @WillSammon

For the record, this is 100% percent thinking out loud. Would be really weird to see three separate deals made with the same team.

In a vacuum, Brandon Donovan would make for a very nice leadoff hitter. Good player. With the rest of the roster, I don't love the fit. Too many lefties. I wonder if this is where Craig would try to break the logjam, swapping Masa and either Abreu or Duran with a prospect or one

People don't really appreciate how unintentionally yet endearingly hilarious the prequels are. The biggest mistake the sequel trilogy made was how delusionally seriously they took themselves (and also swapping directors, that was really dumb too).

Someday people will learn that exit velocity only matters if you can actually make contact with the ball, and doesn't matter if you have the bat control to put the ball where you want it. This is why the nerds who have never played above little league hate Arraez despite him

If I threw a ball at said wall it would bounce back with a higher exit below than anything Arraez has ever hit.
