Hey, Twitter: Today we have some unfortunate news. Effective immediately, OUT/CAST is ceasing publication. This is something we've tried to avoid for several months. 1/3

Further, if your piece is no longer up due to a discontinued publication we would love to re-celebrate it with you
Enter: the SECOND CHANCE anthology Starring: anyone who has pulled their work from a publication for any reason please send work to editors@variantlit.com by the end of July to be included in this re-home edition

But as you all know, shit gets quite difficult. We no longer have the time or funds to continue with OUT/CAST. We send a profound thank you to everyone we've published and everyone who has supported us over the last year. 3/3 β€οΈ

Working to publish queer and Midwestern artists has been such a good journey. We've been honored to create a space for so many diverse and nuanced voices and work. In a perfect world we would maintain and grow OUT/CAST forever. 2/3

Hey, all! We're almost caught up on submissions, but we're finding ourselves a little short of work for next month, i.e. Pride Month! π³οΈβπ So we are ESPECIALLY welcoming anything related to that theme, however you'd like to interpret it. Submit here:

"We are here, so make space for us." It's that simple. My latest for CNN on making #Pride more accessible, featuring words from @annieelainey @powernotpity @dominickevans @alainaskeys @ShivaniSWriting
Pride events can be quite inaccessible to disabled, deaf or hard-of-hearing, blind, and neurodiverse people. Here's how we can make them more inclusive:
