"My Brother's Husband," a drama about a father and his relationship with his brother's gay Canadian husband. Japan's rather right-wing, but no matter how uncomfortable it may be for some, it's important to explain to our kids why a family member might choose to marry a Canadian.

Anno exposes Gainax. Apparently, they had struggled for a long time, and Anno saw the writing on the wall and left. Gainax kept borrowing money from the man. He agreed in exchange for the rights to FLCL & Gunbuster, but they duped him and moved the rights to a shell company.

Let's talk about the graduation of Kiryu Coco. In the wake of the pain, bargaining, and utter shock of her announcement, I think there's a lot to be gleaned about the way international cultures interact, the operation of vtuber agencies, and virtual youtubers in general.

The cut that Masami Obari is accusing Studio TRIGGER of plagarizing in Gridman. Original on the top. Watching it side by side, it's impossible to say that this wasn't an intentional copy. TRIGGER is known for homage, and this scandal raises questions about the distinction.

@KHolosimp This does also seem like a convenient way to deflect blame. Maybe a bully is singled out as the source of Selen's trauma, gets ousted as well, and people return to a neutral position toward the company itself when their anger runs out.

Specifically, Gainax asked for a loan of several million, which Anno gave interest free (Unheard of) because he had many friends still at Gainax. In exchange he wanted the Gunbuster rights and the rights to FLCL for his protoge Tsurumaki at Khara.

Years go by and Gainax stops paying or responding. They ghost Anno. Eventually, Anno decides to take legal action in 2017. Anno sues gainax for the money hes owed and the production material he made working on Nadia and Gunbuster. Gainax fights publicly and loses.

But before the deal was final Gainax changed their mind and wanted even more money for the rights to FLCL and Gunbuster. Time passes and Anno finds out that Gainax sold those properties for more money to a third party (Hence, the FLCL sequels), bypassing all the original creators

However, Anno discovers that the Gainax hes been suing has long since become a hollow shell. All the company's assets have been moved to shell companies while the suit was ongoing, like Gainax West and Gainax Fukushima. So he gets nothing.

@KHolosimp Companies will eat shit when there's a tangible decrease to the quality of their product. Selen had a huge fanbase and was one of Niji EN's most popular talents, the loss of her will have a much greater impact than outcry, which is honestly not that hard to recover from.

If a character is gay they are gay. If a character is explained to be gay in a tiny paragraph bio in a game without strong story or character elements it's tokenism. If they reveal a character is gay months after launch, pop champagne and throw confetti, it's virtue signaling.

For 40 dollars and/or two large Papa John's meat lovers pizza I will write an extensively researched article or a script on any anime or Otaku related topic of your choice. And even with an offer like this. I doubt anyone will take it.

After the incident, Hololive did place many, many new content restrictions on Coco, ostensibly for her own protection, but she was also not invited to large collaborations and many of her ideas were shut down.

@GlinkLive @ak_annanavarro @_AlexJurado_ People commit suicide all the time for various reasons, doctors killing themselves is tragic but not that far out of the ordinary. That said, blatantly violating quarantine orders in disregard of public health is probably a bigger offense than making stupid tik tok videos.

@Digibrah A show like SAO is a miracle. It breaks every single facet of good storytelling. It's a terrible, terrible show. Yet it makes gabzillions of yen. That's not something to scoff at. That's something to explore! How did it succeed in spite of everything being against it?
