Many of the City's top politicians took this money. Including @JimWatsonOttawa who took over 200k, Planning Chair @BarrhavenJan whose developer donors made up 96% of contributions and @AllanHubley_23 whose campaign was almost completely funded by the industry at 99% 2/3

CORRECTION - On a previous version of the website Councillor Kavanaugh had been listed as having 1 developer connection - this was an error on my part. It has been corrected to show the councillor to have 0% of donations from developers. My apoplogies for the mistake.

On the site you can view each councillor and the info on their donation record, as well as rankings of the council comparatively. There’s also the option to view the largest developers and which councillors they gave to. 5/6

The results may be shocking to some. A staggering amount of councillors take the majority (or almost all) of their donations from developers and people who don't live in the ward they represent. On the other hand, several had no developer connections! 4/6

With debates around developper profits and the urban boundary, now felt like a great time to launch. This ressource compiles all 2018 election donations and cross references it with public data to determine which donations came from individuals with developper ties 3/6

Some background: In 2016 the province banned municipal candidates from accepting corporate and union donations. This had the effect of making donation records harder to understand, as individuals connected to corporations can still donate without listing their affiliation. 2/6
