future version will require modern setuptools and vcs-versioning - all build pipelines that still need legacy setuptools and/or old python had about half a decade now to update python tooling - its time to go modern.

i released today - its expected to work just the same for all users.its the last release with legacy python and legacy setuptools support.its also going to be the last release thats mostly standalone #python #packaging #setuptools #pypa.

its uncanny how much better i feel since i dropped the app and notifications - twitter truly has been crossed off - i'll destroy my accounts sooner after copying out some things i want to keep.

Computer science is a broadly overused/misused term, Lots of the work people do in the SW/hardware is just engineering or crafting. To paint a lossy picture it's a bit like material science vs mechanical engineering/CNC planning vs machine operator or even hand operators.

my current peril is trying to move a grown set of attributes that work similar and share a prefix into actual attributes, but keeping aliases. but one cant have a property that's also a init-arg and/or converts, also one can't convert pairs of arguments to a single attribute.

on regular basis i wish i could annihilate #python dataclasses/attrs -the need for codegen, the need to munge around a class after it was made, the lack of combination safe transition tools all add up.
