Important reminder as NZ briefly re-winters, don't wear your @thenorthface gear in the rain unless you're happy to get absolutely soaked through. 45 minutes of steady but light rain today, soaked all the way through four layers. Should have worn a trash bag... @Columbia1938 ftw

Don't worry, everyone, it's just the longest COVID hangover dragging down our economy, not any of their policies... Oh, also tariffs from Trump...

This guy absolutely lives for the cosplay aspect of his office, he really needs to apply for a role in the Trump administration. Just think of the danger to Stanford standing in front of that "Construction Site KEEP OUT" sign! https://t.co/6EeA90Tu7f

Incredibly bleak to hear a publicly-trained medical doctor say, "the government has made it clear...that we want publicly funded research to focus on solving real world problems that can be commercialised". Pathetic, frankly. Whispers of Trump & doge...

Odd fiscal decision to throw millions of dollars of additional debt at an institution that was in deep financial trouble two years ago. Nationals good with money? Yeah, right. Transparent cronyism. Will Auckland take over the facilities when it fails?

Just a public service reminder that officers of the law who know they're on the right side of history don't cover their faces when they're "just doing their job". https://t.co/n0M4KnyYGg Tell your anonymous "ICE" friends.

What? Trump did something illegal? But I thought everything he does is by definition legal! No? That's not how it works? There's a whole Constitution and an enormous legal apparatus that determines what's legal and what isn't, regardless of who does it? Good to know.
BREAKING: The court just confirmed what we all know — the military belongs on the battlefield, not on our city streets. This win is not just for California, but the nation. It’s a check on a man whose authoritarian tendencies are increasing by the day. End the illegal

Anyone remember what's the threshold here before Trump decides he's accomplished all the nothing he intended with his moronic policies and hands out more $$$ to his friends?

THIS IS WILD: Rep. Steven Horsford eviscerates U.S. Trade rep Jamison Greer for seeming to have no idea what was going on with Trump's 90-day pause, blasting his lack of involvement. "WTF! Who is in charge?...There is no strategy." https://t.co/qgQg5GSpgi

This is video of Trump calling the tariffs taxes, admitting that all the other times he and his supporters have said it's not a tax they were lying (or wrong, or both). But he wants people to think the foreign government will pay the tax directly. Which is obviously false.
Trump: "Additional tariffs on Chinese goods are in place effective midnight tonight at 104%...This is all taxes. And don't let them keep telling you this is a tax on our people. I hate that."

Our government seems dedicated to providing for its lobbyists. Talk of Govt. investing $300 million in a Waikato med school. Dunedin Hospital may well wonder whence that $$$. And where will Waikato get the (reportedly) $100 million expected of them?
