A year ago @UBC Board & Senate endorsed the 28 #ClimateEmergency Task Force Recommendations. But UBC has yet to allocate permanent funding to implement them. Please join @cjubc in calling UBC to spend what it takes to win on climate: https://t.co/4bI3yTF2hc

Hey @JustinTrudeau, I wrote you a #ThroneSpeech. Feel free to take whatever you like. With many feeling down after #COP26, I think this could really help boost people's spirits. @s_guilbeault @JonathanWNV @cafreeland @pablorodriguez bits for you too π

What would be the best speech from the throne Canadians could hear later this month? Here's an imaginary take on one that would put Canada on a path to replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy...

This is a slap in the face to people of the global south whose lives are at immense risk if we donβt keep warming to 1.5 degrees. Whatβs another degree or two when your crops are already failing or when your home was flooded twice in a year?
@notthatkhalid @jjhorgan 1.5 degrees is not attainable. It never has been imho.

This trash opinion from someone the feds & BC have relied on as a key validator of their lukewarm efforts at climate action is actually perfectly indicative of where these govts' loyalties lie. They publicly support the global 1.5 degree target while never intending to meet it.

A reminder that the @CPC_HQ voted against Canada's #ClimateChange accountability law because they wanted #FossiFuel executives on its expert advisory committee. #BillC12 #cdnpoli #elxn44

Why isn't everyone talking about the Indigenous Resistance Against Carbon Report??? "Indigenous resistance has stopped or delayed GHG pollution equivalent to at least one-quarter of annual U.S. and Canadian emissions". There is not climate action without Indigenous people.

I think it should be easier to build social housing than it is to build million dollar homes. Email Council to say we should reduce barriers and deepen affordability for non-profit & co-op housing across #Vancouver: https://t.co/pD0d246jNo

Gotta love Trudeau for tabling accountability legislation that doesn't hold his administration accountable "Making 2025 the first milestone would have meant his government had to present Parliament with a progress report in 2023 β an election year." https://t.co/NKh9RwvM9l

The new bill allows the Trudeau government to avoid the very accountability and transparency it intends to impose on future governments

The thing with mobility-pricing-is-inequitable hot takes is they don't follow through the thought process of 1. why the current land use and transportation funding system is inherently inequitable and 2. how mobility pricing is one tool that contribute to long term equality.

Here is the tale of a young girl pushing city council to put in a new crosswalk, the only story that matters today

Arianne Dieleman is proving you're never too young to enact change at city hall.
