We’re getting organized. 75% agree with the statement, “it’s important that nonmonogamous people get organized and fight for our rights and acceptance.” 82% agree, “I see the non-monogamy movement as an important part of the broader project for justice and liberation.”

People who hold marginalized identities were more likely to report at least one experience of stigma or discrimination in their lifetime, underscoring the importance of an intersectional approach to advocacy.

Many of us still can’t be open about who we love. 61% of people reported experiencing stigma or discrimination on the basis of their non-monogamous identity in at least one area of their life.

There's no one way to do it – and that's the point. Participants used over 100 terms to describe their relationship style!

We’re building meaningful lives with multiple connections. The median respondent had 3 sexual or romantic connections, with 75% of respondents having between 2-4 sexual or romantic connections.

This isn't a trend. This isn't a phase. More than two in three respondents have been practicing non-monogamy for four or more year.

For many, non-monogamy isn't just what we do – it's who we are. 70% of respondents say non-monogamy is "very" or "extremely important" to them.

This year, OPEN partnered with researcher Dr. Amy Moors to survey nearly 6,000 non-monogamous people from 65 countries about their real experiences. Made possible with support from @multiamory and @feeldCo. Here's what we learned: 🧵
