Ventura County SAR members joined Supervisor Jeff Gorell today at the entrance to Sycamore Canyon in Newbury Park. The SAR teams, along with Supervisor Gorell, showcased the newly acquired e-mountain bikes that were purchased with monies donated by the Hogan Family Foundation.

*State Route 33 in Los Padres National Forest* SR-33 remains closed from north of Matilija Hot Springs Rd. to Lockwood Valley Rd. north of Ojai until further notice due to extensive damage from January storms. Please DO NOT drive up to see the snow on SR-33. Access will be denied

MISSING UPDATE It is with great sadness that at about 9am, Zachary Zernik was located deceased in Boney Mountain State Wilderness Park. Death appears accidental. No evidence of crime or foul play. Cause of death will be determined by the ME’s Office. Prayers to his loved ones.

Hwy 33 closure
Wow! State Route 33 is closed in both directions from Fairview Rd./La Luna Ave. in Ojai/Meiners Oaks to the Ozena Fire Station/Lockwood Valley Rd. in Los Padres Nat'l Forest due to major storm damage. Video below shows downed power lines & earth below the roadway washed away.
