Yesterday we hosted Glandore National School onto our farm . It’s part of a new initiative between farmers , co-ops and Carbery where we bring schools out on farm. Showing how our food is produced, we all had a ball!!

It take roughly 3500 litres of water to produce just 1 litre of almond milk…. It takes Irish dairy farmers 7 litres to produce a litre of Cows milk…. Just think about that for a second

A big thank you to
@IrishGrassland
for being asked to speak at the dairy conference yesterday, a great honour and I really enjoyed the experience

Normally not a mad IFA man but I do think that this issue is worth fighting for, milk will be produced somewhere, why not here where the carbon footprint and water usage is the lowest in THE WORLD!

Pouring rain when going to bed, still pouring rain when I get up !! This has to be the darkest hour before the dawn , it can only improve after this

Don’t gete wrong, the rain was badly needed, but the cows standing by the ditch in mid summer with the rawness of the cold wind isn’t great!

Delighted to be able to show people what Irish dairy is all about, we take for granted cows outside eating grass but it’s not the norm as 90% of the world’s milk is produced from grain!

Busy morning giving our Dutch visitors a farm tour of sustainable dairy, grass and clover being grazed . They also got to taste Dubliner cheese made from milk form the pastures of West Cork!!
