Yes, the New Testament is that reliable. If you donβt believe us, ask @WesleyLHuff. π Sha come around if youβre in or around UI. And if youβve got non-Christian friends, tag them along. But most importantly, pray for us! β₯οΈβ¨
While people donβt realise it, doing science is only possible if the existence of God is assumed. Plus, did you know that the New Testament is considered one of the most historically reliable documents in existence?

I urge my charismatic friends here and Reformed bro's to sometimes listen to each other.Sometimes people have a semantics prob, noticed it with Charismatics e.g " you will lose your fire " in a sincere reading, it simply means you have lost your fervency, your devotion is down 1/

Actually this is a human issue that is not unique to atheists. Even within Christianity there have been many instances of people who went against the grain and faced serious conflict. So, no, you atheists do not get the gold on "oppression Olympics"
Foolish? You have no idea the amount of courage ot takes to question a belief that's held by majority You have zero idea Till then keep basking in fear and bondage

On this issue of generational curses...one of the most common "patterns" people like to cite is patterns of divorce in a family. But maybe, JUST maybe you see lots of divorce in a family because they married scumbags or are themselves scumbags and their spouses realized it

I think many people think Reformed folk do not pray. That they just read their bibles, sing a bunch of boring hymns, sigh and fold their hands waiting for bad things to happen to them so they can say "God's sovereignty"...

A number of artists typify this, particularly Nas. I remember listening to Ilmatic and being stunned by the degree of his word play.
Something thatβs becoming more obvious in mainstream music these days is that no one is reading anymore. You can hear when an artist reads; richer imagery, layered metaphors, deeper writing, more original thought... The crossover from poetry, literature and philosophy is gone.

Expository teaching can seem so boring and difficult. We want to be fed the answer without necessarily working things out ourselves. It places such a great demand on our minds...

Been also thinking about expository teaching. It's hard not just on the pastor or preacher but also on the congregation. Many of us have grown up listening to thematic preaching that supposedly addresses our immediate needs (finances, health and all that).

Been thinking about fatherhood lately. Growing up without a father or with a bad father is disastrous. God help us!

Where is that post where hyper grace and prosperity gospel adherents were mocking this whole Reformed vs non Reformed issue? I wanted to collapse when I saw that post

Iβm so looking forward to this topic tomorrow. Come around! π€
Our confidence as believers is the Scriptureβs reassuring comfort that Christ, our High Priest, intercedes for us. βConsequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.β Hebrews 7:25
