So. Our @OctopusEnergy #HeatPump has been in since October and looking at stats. Space heating only •Heat out: 5,447 kWh •Electric in: 1,311 kWh 👉 COP = 4.16 Hot water •Heat out: 433 kWh •Electric in: 189 kWh 👉 COP = 2.29 Combined COP 3.92 Happy with that.

I don’t normally do videos… but thought I’d share our #HeatPump in action on a chilly -2° morning in Torbay. My estimation is less than £2 a day our coldest. (On our tariff with batteries.) 437 kWh total use for heating in Dec. £31 #cosyinside #HeatPumpLove

ASHP stats: Oct ’25 to 1 Jan ’26 Delivered 4,099 kWh total (3,679 kWh heating + 331 kWh hot water) Using just 1,022 kWh electric Overall COP 4.01 Space heating COP 4.20 (even through December!) Worst cold day: 26 kWh input. All at ~7p/kWh via EV tariff + batteries. #HeatPump

Besides having a nice cosy house during these fresh winter days, our humidity has completely gone (well, it’s no longer a problem!) #HeatPumpLove ~£30 for December. Thanks @OctopusEnergy

@Keir_Starmer You could cut income tax. You could cut VAT. You could reduce the energy cap. You could reduce tax on alcohol. You could reduce council tax. These would help with cost of living. Or you could force businesses that are already on their arse to pay staff more.
