It's literally the opposite. "New Qing Histories" created this false dichotomy between "Inner Asia" and "Han" (something that is precisely promoted by Han nationalists) whereas traditional Chinese historiagraphy understands "China"/中国 as the "Middle Kingdom" or "Central State"
