and finally... The explosion. This was a lot of fun and a lot of heartache. I tried to match the debris from the first shot to the second, not that you can tell. I animated all of those circles by hand... I put way too much effort into this. Please love me.

I really dislike the term "AI" being used for any form of machine learning AND language models AND generative adversarial networks AND every other new tech.
Machine Learning where you want to place a brush stroke is not the same as Diffusion based Generative Imagery stealing art.
Reminder that even on the first movie the Spiderverse team literally used AI in the process of making the film.
We are little by little losing the fight against AI art.

I was discussing this issue with friends. It's frustrating when I'll hear some people get mad that their shows get cancelled yet they were watching or downloading it illegally and those views and downloads, now in the MILLIONS these days, don’t count for a show’s ratings at all!

THIS. People often forget this when they're drawing but it is SO important and really key to making your art believable and letting people actually connect with it on a deeper level.
I could not have said this better myself.

Animator Twitter is wild. Whether it's people obsessing over a tiktok cosplayer's "perfect movements" or a youtuber boldly proclaiming that all anime is first made in 3D then traced, the wildest of takes never cease to amaze and perplex me.

It's just content.
It exists only in its final state and everything before then can be optimised away.

you may study anime, but many of us study animation, and people do feel attacked when you tell them their work in 3D is just a useful crutch, their work in 2D trad can or should only have been roto, or that roto is necessarily an better process than our art.

Blockchain tech and Crypto is abysmal for the environment. The entire idea of what makes it "work" is that it takes so much energy to prevent anyone owning the system.
It requires a huge CO2 and GPU Sacrifice and for that reason I could never get on board with it.

So, Disney actually already released The Lion King in 3D. Back in 2011, they took the original movie and converted it to stereoscopic 3D for a 2 week cinematic release and a BluRay 2 weeks later. It was BEAUTIFUL.
It just makes me so sad I don't know anyone else who saw it.
