THREAD 🧵 | Hot takes are flying about BC Ferries “shipping jobs to China.” Before the outrage spiral hits Mach 5, let’s park the slogans and run the numbers. Here’s what’s actually happening—and what isn’t. #bcpoli.

Instead of fighting for shipbuilding jobs and opportunities for workers in BC — the BC NDP has allowed these jobs to go to communist China. The BC NDP and Eby are literally taking food from the mouths of BC workers to give it to China. Is this what the NDP meant by “elbows up”?.

In India 79% of gay men and 44% of bi men in a 2024 study said they’ve suffered verbal or physical violence; family members/community/broader society are often the perpetrators. If laws fully corrected that behavior, there'd be no incidents against the LGBTQIA+ in Canada.

In the article, his immigration lawyer adds that, despite India’s laws, homophobia is still very present, and warns of “a high risk” if he’s deported. That framing points to danger from family/neighbours/broader society rather than a formal government prosecution. Reading is key!.

So when you say, “India recognises a third gender, therefore queer people are fine,” you gloss over the real risk that community/family violence goes un-policed. Refugee law treats that as persecution if the state can't protect you—exactly the scenario Tarun Godara is pleading.

Legal recognition matters, but so does enforcement. India’s own data show widespread anti-LGBTQ violence and zero marriage rights. That’s why asylum claims like Tarun’s aren’t ‘BS’—they’re about protection from family- and community-level harm that the state hasn’t yet solved.

India is the only country that I know that officially recognizes a third gender. I know many openly gay, trans, and queer individuals thriving in business, the arts, and beyond. So I’m calling this guy’s bullshit for what it is.

If every march you film ends with you “backing off” while somehow still right in people’s faces, maybe the common denominator isn’t the crowd—it’s the guy chasing views with a camera and a victim monologue. 🎥➡️😭.

These aggressive, and at times violent, protesters are the ones causing a disturbance and trying to incite me, not the other way around!. In this example, from the start of the March yesterday, I had been filming from well ahead and stopped to get a shot of the crowd from the far

Pre-Islam Arabs already lived in Arabia— citing a tourist JPEG of al-Lāt, al-ʿUzzā & Manāt doesn’t magically turn a local civil war into overseas colonialism. Conquest? Yes. Foreign colonizers? Still zero. Try again after Geography 101. 🗺️🤡.

Selling off Treasuries would nuke Japan’s own economy first: 🔹dump = ¥ surges 🔹banks/insurers book huge capital losses 🔹Tokyo ends up buying $ again to cap the yen. The $25 T T-bill ocean won’t notice the splash—Japan definitely would.

Japan holds trillions in U.S. debt - biggest investor by country in America. I’m sure a massive sell off of T-Bills would blunt Trumps hilarious 25% tariff. Canada should do the same thing.

Funny how you slam Salma for not citing women punished for refusing hijab, yet skip the women harassed, fired, fined or expelled for wearing one—from Quebec’s Bill 21 to France’s street-fines to India’s Karnataka ban. Pro-choice means both directions, Rupa—be consistent.

Wild take: criminalize prayer in a public square, then seize houses of worship for ‘shelters.’ FYI, mosques already run soup kitchens and cold-weather beds—no bulldozers needed, just less bigotry and more volunteering.

Praying in Toronto’s most popular square. This is only about exerting their dominance over society. I say we turn their mosques into homeless shelters.

How do they define justice?’ Pretty simple: stop bombing civilians, free the hostages, follow international law. Peace in Ottawa isn’t threatened by a drum circle—it’s threatened by pretending injustice abroad has nothing to do with us.

Tim Hortons stopped being “Canada’s coffee” the day Burger King/3G gobbled it up in 2014 and parked the profits in a Brazilian tax haven. If the brew feels foreign now, blame Wall Street cost-cutting—not the accents at the counter.

Tim Hortons was the most Canadian brand 10 years ago. Now everything sucks — the staff stink, speak Indy, and there’s an outbreak of hepatitis almost every month. The fact that Canada’s most iconic coffee chain was so easy to take over… .That’s a bad omen for the country.
