pro tip: anyone who thinks legacy ip could have been replaced in a less impactful manner than ipv6, please understand that people reinvent this idea frequently, & it has the exact same flaws every time. ipv6 isn’t perfect - far from it! - but there was no “easier alternative”.

Maybe releasing 240/4 for general consumption is the thing that will drive #IPv6 adoption by completely wrecking #IPv4 interoperability: “I can’t reach your network, are you on 240/4? Yes? Lets do v6 instead”
